Following on from their successful London to Paris cycle ride in 2016, Mike Limb and Steve Molyneux decided to take on the LEJOG (Land’s End to John O’ Groat’s) cycle challenge in aid of Wirral Hospice St John’s and the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Originally planned for 2020 the ride had been placed on hold due to the Pandemic.
The self-funded 1000+ mile cycle challenge took place from Wednesday 15th June to Friday 24th June, with the cyclists completing approximately 100 miles per day.
These two local charity funded locations have been fantastic over the years with the dedicated care and compassion they provide to patients and their families that need them so much. Unfortunately, we will all know someone who has or has been affected by cancer at some stage in our lives and what it does to them and their families and loved ones.
Following the successful completion of the ride Mike Limb said
We thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and seeing the country in a completely different way to car or rail travel.
I would like to personally thank Steve (Moly) for being the driving force behind the challenge with Ian Keelo, Karen and Debs for all their support and giving personal holiday time up etc to ensure that all we had to do was ride the bikes, we could not have done it without them.
Once again thanks for all of your support for myself and family with losing Sue in 2015, at a very young age and also all the people close to me and their families who have been mentioned within the charities link below on the Just Giving website as my reason for doing this.
We have had fantastic support so far for both charities, a special thank you goes out to everyone who gave support/donations.
Mike & Steve have so far raised over £6000.00, congratulations to them both.
